canstockphoto19113480Question: We have several new great IL Coordinators.  I want to make sure that they are thoroughly trained on IL materials.  Is there a checklist to help structure this process?  Thoughts?  Thanks.

We have really excellent materials on our website for new staff. All of these are free!
A couple of our Rapid Courses are very good for new staff and they are self-study with a certificate of completion issued at the end, which is beneficial. I suggest:
Foundations of IL (series of 4 courses)
and
Consumer Service Records (series of 3 courses)

Then the five-part series on core services (archived from 90-minute webinars).

Oops — a set of 4, a set of 3 and a set of 5 is twelve, but you CAN find them in three links. This full set is quite comprehensive on all areas except for the new core service. If you browse through the menu bar on the right side of the webpage you can find both youth and nursing home transition listed there, along with many other great topics.
Some centers find it useful to pick out a clip and show it at staff meeting then discuss, as well. You can make this part of your staff training plan, so that you provide some training at every monthly staff meeting, at the beginning of the meeting, to get everyone sharing about that topic.
